Benjamin Hindman
I'm the new 4-H Agent for Bath and Highland Counties. I grew up spending summers on my family's homeplace on the Bullpasture River in Highland and have had a lifelong goal of living in the area. I am very excited to be here and working to serve the communities.
My background is in education. I earned my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies for Early and Elementary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. The following year, I completed my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of William and Mary. Prior to accepting this position, I spent time working at a therapeutic horseback riding facility and taught 4th and 5th grades for six years in New Kent, Virginia. From September 2020 until October 2022, I worked as the Extension Program Associate for 4-H and ANR in the two counties. I am looking forward to applying my life skills and experiences in a new way with Virginia Cooperative Extension.
My wife, Lauren, and I have two daughters, Marley and Rowen. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and reading about history. I am thrilled to join the community and look forward to working with you.
